Hello, welcome to Libra Accordion Repairs. We are Rachel and Jonathan Causebrook, we’re qualified and certified accordion repairers and tuners having trained at the Accordion Craft Academy in Castelfidardo, the home of the Italian accordion industry.

At our workshop just outside Hungerford in Berkshire, we are equipped to undertake all aspects of tuning and repairs based on your exact requirements. We are happy to discuss any specific issues you may have with your box.

What Services Do We Offer?

Every squeezebox deserves to be heard at its best. Whether your accordion has developed a strange noise, your melodeon is leaking air, or a reed has gone out of tune, getting the right hands on it makes all the difference. We are on hand to give your piano accordion, button accordion, melodeon or concertina the expert care it deserves.

Squeezeboxes are remarkably robust instruments, but they do need looking after — especially older ones. Years of playing, temperature changes, humidity, and the occasional bump can all take their toll.

How Do We Work?

The Process — No Surprises

We will always give your instrument a thorough check-over before any work begins. We’ll talk you through exactly what we’ve found and what we recommend, along with a clear price. Nothing happens without your go-ahead. That’s the kind of straightforward, transparent service that makes getting your instrument repaired feel reassuring rather than stressful.

Typical turnaround time for repair work is one to two weeks, though we often turn things around in a shorter space of time. Being musicians ourselves, we understand all too well the frustration of not having your instrument fully working — and we’ll always do our best to get you back playing as quickly as possible.

Getting Your Box To Us

There is always a warm welcome awaiting you at our workshop. We have plenty of free parking and we are easy to find. We are a few minutes from Hungerford which is just off the M4 junction 14. Hungerford has a railway station which we could collect you from if needed. The town also has shops, antiques, cafés, restaurants and lovely walks if you would prefer to explore while we work on your box.

Can’t Get to Hungerford? No Problem!

We know that Hungerford in Berkshire isn’t on everyone’s doorstep. The good news is that we are happy to accept instruments sent by post or courier. Plenty of players across the south of England — and further afield — send their boxes in for attention. If you’re thinking of doing this, just give us a call first so we can advise on the best way to pack and send your instrument safely.
